My OB appt on Satur...UPDATES...

Hi Friends,
Its so lovely to have this forum..its so informal to talk about EVERYTHING..i love it :-) thanks gals.
I had my 30 week appt last satur and my Dr said all was well, baby's HB and size was good for 30 weeks :-)
Then she had a class where in she explained about the signs of actual/fals labour and many many things...Grrrr...some alarming stuff too.
Human mind is sto stupid, iv been so afraid of the worst case scenarios she spoke about.
Actually i didnt really follow all the signs of labour that she mentioned in the class as i was very sleepy all the while since we had our house-warming pary on friday till late in the night!!!
Is there any link where i can read?

My DH has to travel from 1st Aug for 3 weeks, he didnt even ask me if I was OK with his travel plans...im just praying hard that our baby arrives once his/her dad is back from the trip! I dun want him to miss the labour 'FUN' that i go through :-)
My baby shower is scheduled on 27-July...am keen on it..u know ive been waiting for it ever since Iv been married n dreaming about how it would be when i'll get pregnant :-) :-) hahahhahahaha

Glad to hear your appointment went well and you and baby are doing fine!

You can always google any topic and it will give you info on a variety of things, but don't read too much into the stuff on there...you can't believe everything you read and everyone is different so you may not go through the same experience!

Hey Radhika, havent seen you in a while, im glad all is well.  My baby shower is on the 26th of this month and im surely looking forward to it, people are already buying items off my registry YaY.

You can actually google  true labor vs false labor.

Off the top of my head, true labor: contractions are consistent and they dont go away no matter what you do.  False labor or BH's are not consisitent in pattern and the pain dont increase like true labor and they go away if you drink fluids or change positions.

Mucus plug: if it comes out, that is an indication that your body is gona start preparing for labor and giving your cervix a chance to thin out, it could happen in hours, days or a few weeks.  If mucus plug comes out and there is more than 2 teaspoons of blood call your ob or go to er bcuz it could be a sign of placenta previa.  Any sudden swelling(edema) in hand feet face or increase blood pressure could indicate pre clampsia so you wana watch out for that to.

I think those are the biggies, oh and if your not feeling fetal movement or you are concerned your baby may b less active you may want to call your ob also.  But again just google true labor vs false labor.
