Nicole, yea that's exactly what I have. The side drops down and attaches to the bed. Makes nursing at night much easier!
My son was a cosleeper he would only sleep on my chest. This time around I have a bassinet where the side drops down and it attaches to your bed. I'm planning on using that just because I thought it would be easier for nursing. So this baby will be a bassinet sleeper, but attached to my bed.
seems like most of us will be doing the same things. I had such a good experience with my son, that I hope I can repeat that. after a couple of months I was able to move his co-sleeper away from our bed as I was getting ready to transition him to his crib. It went really well and he eventually learned to go to sleep when I would put him down awake, even though I started out nursing him to sleep for my own sanity. Then when he moved to his crib, *I* was the one who couldn't sleep at night and would check on him a few times at night even though he was sleeping all night by then. lol. I eventually relaxed and stopped worrying.
Well my experience with having my first in my bed was a disaster!! I have put all of my babies since in the bassinet next to my bed. I move them into a crib and another room around six months. I will never be lazy and nurse in bed again. My hubby, me, and the baby cried for hours when I had to finally get her out of our bed!!! I also found that getting out of bed and changing the baby and nursing and putting them down on their own established a much better sleeping pattern for all of us.
i agree with Asking4amiracle. Thats what I'm doing as well.
I too voted bassinet... Just about 21/2 -3 feet away from my bed. For about 3 months or so.
I voted "in bassinet" Sarah was in her bassinet right next to my bed for the first 4months ofher life......I would have put her in her room sooner, but DH would not allow me..he was too attached (yet not the one getting up at night!)
