What do your BH feel like and how often are they?

I'm just wondering how BH are for everyone now that we're bigger and farther along. I get the tight feeling ones where my whole belly goes rock hard and it lasts a little less than a minute. Not painful just there about 10 times a day on average. Then I get the rock hard belly contracations that seem to tug at my back and sides it feels more like menstral cramps. I get like a hot flash when those ones happen and my face goes flush. They last just over a minute and will get a wince or an ouch out of me. Thoes don't happen as much probably 4 a day unless I'm having a bad contraction day and then up to 10 or 15.

Anyhow I'm just wondering what you guys are experiencing?

I honestly don't think I have had them.  None of the symptoms you describe sound familiar to me.  Maybe I am just lucky??  :)

I'm the same way as Shawndell...I'm not feeling them that much and can't really tell the difference. My belly has tighten up but I always thought it was b/c I was speaking loud of yelling at someone! LOL.

The other day I was arguing with my uncle who is painting the nursery and my belly started to tighten up and I just figured it was b/c I was angry and pissed off. lol.

I guess I am getting them but they are not very consistent and are very spreadout. Next time I get one I will time it to see how long they are lasting.

This is my first pregnancy so I'm kind of clueless on all this stuff. Sorry... =(

Shawndell- Your having them, but lucky for you they don't bother you at all.

I don't mind the tight ones at all I just hate the long ones that hurt around my back and sides.

I can feel my belly get hard starting at the bottom and moving up. Its like every breath I take it gets harder and further up. They aren't painful and I can go on about my day. I have those a couple times a day and they are increasing slightly each week.
I also have ones (i'm not sure if they are BH though) that last for a lllooonnnggg time. They feel like menstral cramps and are very uncomfortable. My midwife says as long as they aren't stregthening and/or getting closer together, I have nothing to worry about. She says that they massage the baby and help him mature. Well, I my opinion...I don't care what they are doing...I'm pretty sick of the crampy ones. : )  Good thing I've only had them 3 times so far.

So I don't think I have experienced any yet ladies. Is that normal? Or I just don't know what it will feel like. But I'm sure I would. Just curious.

I guess it's pretty normal then to get hot and flush while having one?  I can always remember with my son they would just take my breath away...can't remember if I got a hot flash or not...

I can say that I have had maybe 2 or 3 total so far but I take my shots every Wednesday and that has luckily reduced and prevented most! When I have gotten them it's been on the days just before my shot

Chantal- that's how the bad ones are for me too. I get hot and flush until it's passed.

I'm not quite in the 3rd trimester yet...2 more weeks to go, but I just had an awful BH yesterday. I went to stand up (not realizing I was even having one) and my stomach was rock hard for not quite a minute, I get extremely hot and my face feels flush and I even had awful chest pain during it, so much so that I had to sit back down for 2 or 3 minutes until it subsided. Never experienced anything like that before, but it freaked me out. Most times I don't even know I am having a BH unless I feel my belly, but there are times that I get a hot flash and it becomes harder to breathe. I only get a few a day unless I am on my feet a lot, then I get more, so I am not too worried about it.  Sometimes they are uncomfortable, and others are painless.

Hey girlies!

I have them anywhere from 5 - 10 times a day...they last about a little less than a mniute and are pretty painless...makayla doesn't like them at all...She kicks/jabs usually right after they occur....

8-10 times a day, I have what feels like a tightening or "heavy" sensation in my lower belly.  Earlier they felt a little crampy but not anymore.  They don't hurt but are somewhat uncomfortable and I usually stop whatever I am doing at that moment until it passes.  CNM says they are BH.

I have not been able to recognize BHs in this later stage.  I had them in the early second trimester but I don't recall having them in the recent weeks.  What I feel the most is the little guy shifting positions and he sticks his bum or back out so I can feel him!

Now that i think about it, the pains that i feel might be BH's, if that is the case, then i do have them everyday, i was just sitting here and started feeling these pains.  I guess with all the working ive been doing i dont have time to think about the pains unless im resting.

lol that's one of the best parts of the third trimester. Once you think you've got all this pregnancy stuff figured out it all changes and now your wondering is that a cramp or a contraction. Before I get pregnant again I am going to make it my goal to find and become friends with a midwife so I can harass her for knowledge every day. I wonder where I can find one do they hang out at midwife stores ;-)
