Im buying 3 moo moo's (i think thats what they call them ugly granny nightgowns, unless i find some pretty ones. The gowns that button down the middle. I think i will buy the bras after i have the baby, not sure how big my breast may get.
This link is very helpful, Yvette. Also, I happened to be in Walmart today and they had some women's nightgowns and pajamas that buttoned up the front, that look like they would do the trick for nursing. I'm having trouble finding bras (would like to try on rather than ordering online if I can). Anyone having success shopping?
Yeah...i liked those tank tops a lot. I'm having my baby in August and live in Phoenix and it's still hot here until November.
I needed that link myself! Thanks :)
I like to wear nuring bras even when pregnant. But I have been wearing the same ones for like 5 pregnancies now. They are so thin, I might as well not be wearing anything. But I have had a hard time finding anything. I have looked at Penny's and Babys R Us and no luck. Well, I found one at Babys R Us yesterday and bought it, but it was too small! So, I will have to return it. Bummer.....
Thanks again for the link.
Thanks for the link! I'm thinking about just going wtih the sleeping nursing bra. It's like a sports bra nursing bra combo. I thought that might be safer than trying to gauge how huge my boobs will be after delivery. I remember with my first I looked like Pamela Anderson or Dolly Parton. Then I can pick up a bra after the initial engourgment happens.
Nursing garments aren't necessarily garments that have build in sports bras. It's a garment that give you easy access to the breast without having to remove that article of clothing. Sometimes it will have two slits (vertical) in the middle in which you can pull your breast out. Or you can pull down and pull out a breast or that overlaps at the bust areas in which you can pull out a breast. It's a garment that is designed to easier access the breast. There are some t-shirts like Nicmom is mentioning in which you just detach part of the fabric and pull it down to expose a breast.

what you mean they get bigger! i already went up 2 cup sizes since i found out i was pregnant, god i hope not much bigger
I should clarify.... before I got pregnant I had no butt to speak of. Now I have one that is proportionate to my belly and it freaks me out. It's like 4 times the size of my previous lack of butt.
I don't think there's any set time to get them but probably close to the time you delivery so you want to get the right size. I'm almost 29 weeks. I think I will be getting my nursing gowns and a couple of shirts in the next few weeks. Also as far as a nuring bra, get one that's a couple of cup sizes bigger....your "girls" will be huge after the baby is born, but the in a little while they'll go back down.
Also if you're having a baby vaginal del, you probably will just spend one night in the hospital. I woundn't wear a nursing gown. Wear the ugly hospital gown because you will have some post partum bleeding (lochia) and you don't want to ruin your nursing gown.
It's a night gown that has a built in sports bra that pulls to the side for easy access. Or at least that's the one I saw at Motherhood.
Ari- don't remind me about the underware issue. I've just out grown my pregnancy ones. My a*s is HUGE.
I've heard to get them at 6-8 months of pregnancy as your size stabilizes around then. Dumb question, what exactly is a nursing gown?
I went shopping for underwears last week b/c the ones I have barely fit anymore. My butt is getting too big! LOL. I actually haven't thought of getting new bras yet...that's not a bad idea. I'm guessing two nursing gowns and maybe three pairs of bras willl do. I wouldn't over pack though..
I'll probably go shopping this weekend myself. =)
