With herpes, the only way you will transmitt the virus is if you are actively having symptoms(and visible bumps) or sheading at the time, which sheading  you cant really detect when you are and when your not. You can be sheading and not have any sores and still pass the virus on.  If i remember this right, the antibodies you have obtained in your life, the baby will also have to(if i remember correctly) so if you ever got the baby tested for herpes, it will show that he/she has the antibodies against it.  Most Drs will do a C section if you have active sores/lesions, i dont even think they take sheading into consideration.  I would talk to your OB about it, and also ask them about sheading, and what is the safest route far as delivery.

As far as Hep C, my question is how did you contract it? I no hep A&B can be transmitted to baby.  Hep C, it depends on if your immune system is already compromised.(like having hiv or another illness that compromises the immunine system)  The chances on passing hep c to the baby also depends on the levels that is in your system i think they call it RAN OR RNA one or the other. If levels are high, i think there is a chance to pass it on. Also if you have liver damage due to hep C it can cause you problems which will cause the pregnancy problems. With hep C you should be getting blood test for liver enzymes to check the function of your liver.

Have you seen an OB yet?  What i would do if i were you, is write down a list of questions regarding herpes, and hep C, such as, treatment while preggo, best route of deliver, having your liver enzymes checked, possibility of gallstones, having your hep c levels checked. Also if you google both of these to give yourself some insight on them so that you no what to ask the dr.

Congrats on the pregnancy, try to stay positive and make sure you get a Dr who cares about your well being with this pregnancy bcuz having hep c could cause a lot of problems for you, and i dont you can take the medication they give for that while being preggo.

Keep me posted on how things go, i will keep you in my prayers

Have you talked with your OB. I am not 100% but I think that they will probably do a C-Section to lower the risk of transmission.
