Lucky you, I hope my dr say i can be induced when i see her friday, i will be 39weeks im 2cm already but no sign that she is trying to come out.
I was induced with my first child, i was only 1cm dialated going in to the hospital, they had to break my water and give me pitocin, everyone is different but for me the contractions was coming back to back thaat i didnt have time to catch my breathe. I tolerated the pain for about 5-6 hours then i couldnt do it no more it seemed as if the contractions were overlapping so i got the epidural and two hours later i had my son.
Thats the only thing i fear this time if i have to be induced, the back to back contractions, if i go on my own im going to try and do it natural.
Good luck and cant wait to see the pics and hear the story.
To: bimbicat7- Are you dialated at all, because that can affect how the induction process works, if your cervex isn't ready it could take awhile before you even have your first contraction, along with it being more stressfull and painfull on your body, that's why my doctor is trying to wait and see if something changes with my cervex before my next apt...
I have never been induced, but when my mom was induced with my brother (he poped the amniotic sack, but she was a week and a half over due), she got to the hospital at around 5am, they hooked her up to the peitocin, and she didn't start having contractions until about 2 or 3 in the afternoon, but he was out by 9pm. Also the nurses never turned down the peitocin after she was contracting regually, so she needed the epidural to help her control the pain, along with after she had it, it 1,2,3 and before she knew it my brother was born.
So good luck, I'll be thinking of you, I have a doc. apt tomorrow at 845am :) so we'll see if anything has changed with my cervex!!!
I am so excited for you! When I went in to be induced with my son Jordan I thought I was so calm lol! Everyone kept saying, are you ok? Are you nervous? I really didn't think I was! I got to the hospital and the nurse brought out all the IV material and laid it out on the bedside table! I guess it all hit me right then! I got all anxious and nervous all at once and passed out lol! It was so funny! Everytime my mother tells that story she laughs so hard! It wasn't bad at all! My water was broke around 8am and at 9:13pm on 04-05-06 little Jordan was born and everything was perfect! You will do great! Even if you are a little nervous maybe you wont do as bad as I did and pass out! If this is your first just wait until they lay the baby on your chest this overwhelming powerful love just comes over you and however much you thought you loved this child when you carried him at that moment you just have a deeper greater unshakable love! Its by far the greatest moment of your life! Atleast I know it was for me!
Congrats and good luck! I think that's a great birthday. That was the day I was scheduled for an induction only the baby had other plans.
