5 weeks Pregnant and an empty gestational sack
Hi i was wondering if anyone can help me because i am freaking out like mad.
I thought i was around 8 weeks pregnant but last night after shortly after having intercourse i started bleeding (light) and having cramps which lasted for around 2hrs
I went for u/s today and they told me that there was a genestational sack there and it was around 5 weeks but it was empty. =(
They also told me that the bleeding was because i had inflamed cervix through the sex the previous night.
They have booked me in for another scan next week 28th jan
Im really freaking out over this as i have had 2 miscarridges already has anyone experienced the same kind of thing? Please help me im going MAD xxxxxxxx

Just to keep you all updated i had quite a rough time and was told it was a third misscaridge. I went to see a doctor at the hospital and the took blood samples off me and my partner to carry out tests and to see if they could give me an explenation for these M/Cs i also went for a scan last week to see if everything was normal but was told to go back on the 13th april next week as i havnt had a period since the miscarriidge when i bled for 5weeks. Thats been like 9 weeks now. But a few days ago i bled really light for 2 days and dont know if that was my period but they usualy last for the whole 7 days. I dont know whats going on ill have to wait till the 13th then wait again till the 6th may until i see the doctor again and see my results. Fingers crosssed ay. Im scared incase he tells me somthing bad or scarry ! :(

I went all the way to the hospital for nothing. . .They didnt even scan me they said i needed to be booked into the early pregnancy Unit and not the main maternity clinic :@

Today is my ultra sound ladies i have to b there in an hour.
Oh my Gosh i have never been so nervous in all my life havnt had a wink of sleep all night and my heart is just beating like mad ! !

You and I are in a very simlar boat my dear. I too measured 5 weeks last week and they saw nothing in my gestational sac. I went in for them to measure my HCG levels today and they will take them again on Wednesday. May I just say I'm very glad to have found this site so I know I'm not the only one going through this. Good Lord willing we will both have healthy and happy babies in a few months! Here is praying that God provides you peace.
i had a belighted ovum with my last pregnancy. i went to the hospital at 7 weeks and 3 days but measured 6 weeks and 2 days and no fetal pole. hcg was still going up but not doubling. my symtoms vanished but i had no cramping and no bleeding. at 9 weeks i was still measuring 6 weeks and two days that when my d&c was done:( It was a very sad day for me. i hope that your outcome will be better then mine was.
I am due to go bak for another ultrasound scan on thursday. The hospital said just to wait until that day and to see if anything develops as it was proberly to early on to see anything this week because i was only 5 weeks. I am preparing myself for the worst but i reli do hope they see a baby on my next scan on thursday
I think you should immediately seek a referral from your GP for another ultrasound or go straight to emergency at your local hospital.
I understand when there is a sac that develops but there is no baby inside this is called a 'Anembryonic Pregnancy'.
The condition is discovered during a scan, in most cases an embryo was conceived but did not develop and was reabsorbed into the uterus at a very early stage.
You should get some treatment.

Well i cant even remeber my last period i know i was on the 5th nov but cant remember if i had one the start of dec however on the 20th dec i had nausea, sickness and tender breast so i took a test on 21st dec and it was positive so i have known for 4 weeks alredy. when i went to the hospital today they said i mush ov found out on the exact day thet i was pregnant. Im jus so worried
