I am having a boy and DH wanted a traditional Irish name so we are going with Fynnigin. Middle names Paul and James for both our fathers. My mother hates Fynnigin but I don't care. I really like the name Evalee. I thought that was really pretty.
BabyJazz2010: Gavin is such a short name it really doesn't need a nicname. But Vin or Vinny is a thought as well. I think it's cute to use Gabe, being as it is just adding an E to his initials.
I'm having a boy and leaning heavily towards Gavin Alexander. What nickname might he have for Gavin, however? Gav? Any other possibilities? My last name starts with a B so I was thinking I could even call him Gab or Gabe...which I considered Gabriel, but feel Gavin is a better fit for me and the family.
We picked Kaelynn Aielle (iyell) I love the name!
I love the name Alaynah, it's so pretty! And also Everett Hoyle is really nice sounding, and incorporates both sides of the family so I think that's great!
Myself personally my little girl is being named Anna Jayde :)
I've looked for other names with the same meaning but really haven't found anything that I like or that goes with Alaynah.
I agree, I like Alaynah Grace as well. We are having another little girl too. We are going with Jaylin Jade most likey if not that then Jayde Lynn. I have a Christopher and an Ava already. Christoher is very common and Ava is becoming more popular. I have never really heard of a Jaylin.
oh, and btw....i think I like Alaynah Grace best out of your choices....August is a hard name to incorporate. When you look it up, it means Great....could you pick another name that means Great and use that with Alaynah?
I've never been a big fan of going by the middle name....but maybe just to get under grandma's skin I can make an exception! hehe...
Lucas is a name I've always liked and was on the list when we had DD if I remember correctly. Not sure though....we had Cameron picked for a little while and now are revisiting the whole subject so I keep going back to that one......
I have a cross stitch sampler to start for him so when I get to the name part we'll have no choice but to pick one....now if I could only find the time to start it!!
OOOHHH I really like Lucas Everett. Lucas was on my list if we were gonna have a boy. I think Luke is a nice nicname too. You could still call him Rett if you wanted. Two of my kids go by their middle names. Lets see Grandma say something abuot THAT LOL.
we are having the name debate too...but we are having a boy this time around. With DD it seemed easier. DH wants to use his middle name as one of the names, which I am fine with (I like his middle name....Everett). I would like to find a family name on my side to add to it, but we don't have the best names on my side. I just feel like I want to represent my side this time since DD's middle name is a family name on DH's side too - he gets all the credit!
My MIL is not helping matters though - she doesn't like her own son's middle name because it is her ex-husband's name. I could care less what she thinks - she picked him in the first place and then used his name in her own son's name, so she can go fly a kite for all I care...not my fault (or DH's) they divorced and she doesn't like him anymore. DH is a little more understanding, but it is his middle name and it's been used as either a first or middle name for 4 generations so he would really like to continue to use it in some way. I say use it as a first name, but DH is afraid of what his mom would do....I can understand that to a degree, but would love to see her reaction! (I'm horrible...I know!)
So anyway....here are some of our names........Everett is the family name we want to keep in play
Michael Everett (DH's name...so would be Jr.....neither of us are sold on that)
Cameron Everett
Lucas Everett
Shawn Everett (my brother's middle name is Shawn, we don't agree on spelling though)
Everett Hoyle (Hoyle is my father's middle name and his grandparent's last name)
If we went with Everett as a first name, we would most likely call him Rett. DH and I both grew up with the #1 name for decades....Michael & Jennifer...so we like the not so common names, but not the unheard of ones. Our last name is Brown too....so we need to stay away from certain first names (jackson, charlie, james...)
Anyone have any opinions???
thanks!
Hi I am almost 38 weeks prego, and I'm having a girl I picked the name Lana Grace because you never hear of it so you are welcome to use it too. Hope this helped:)
Ooo. I like Alaynah Grace a lot. It's pretty. And Lany would be a cute nickname. Anyways.
The name we're picked for our little girl is Kylie Marie. (DF picked her whole name. I get to spell it)
alaynah august or grace sounds good....a nickname could be lany
