Heartburn?? Anyone else

I have had non stop heartburn for almost 2 weeks now. I am eating Zantac which is the only thing that helps like it's candy. I don't like taking pills while pregnant but the pressure gets so severe. I can't sit streight up I have to always be leaning back or it's worse. I wake up some nights and burp stomach acid in my mouth which burns. I then have to get up and rebrush my teeth.

I don't know what to do. I don't eat spicy or greasy food it happens when I eat my oatmeal for breakfast! I've started to eat less food trying to help by not over filling my stomach I haven't really noticed a difference either.

Mine is a combination of acid reflux and heartburn I always wait atleast two hours before laying down after eatting.

I tried the rolaid chews they didn't help. I tried all the chewable tabs first and my Dr put me on Zantac.

I don't have heartburn, but I'm getting acid reflux. It's so nasty because when I try to lay down at night I can taste and feel it in my mouth and the back of my throat. I knew I would get it because I had it before pregnancy as well, but it's just worse now, and gets triggered from eating anything.

I have been struggling with the same thing, but not as bad as yours sounds.  Tums sometimes help but what I have been using lately and does seem to help is papaya. Papaya is supposedly one of the best things for the digestive system - I was shocked to learn that many cheaper steak houses soak their meat in papaya to soften it and make it easier for people to digest. My doctor recommended it, as did many people in a health store.  I eat dried papaya throughout the day and most mornings make a smoothie with fresh papaya.  It may not work alone but it's worth a shot, especially since it's natural.  Good luck.

I haven't had it too bad just yet.  But I know in a few weeks I will.  The only thing I've found that works, that isn't a pill is the rolaids soft chews.

I'm with you - didn't have it like this with DD 2 years ago.  I don't have the pressure, just the acid taste in the back of my throat....was happening at night a few times, now the past few days it seems to be on and off all day.....Tums help me some, but not much, I've just been dealing with it and trying to ignore it.  Seems like everything is 10X worse with this pregnancy than with my last!  14 more weeks....hopefully less!!!
