Cravings and other oddities...

SO just did a journal on this but I would definitely like to hear what all of the other ladies out here are wanting! Be it strange, normal or just something you wouldn't like if you weren't pregnant... I seem to like:
*Pickles (I never liked them before this pregnancy)
*Anything Spicey (only like it when I am pregnant)
*Turtle Chex Mix
*Cheetos
*Starbuck's Vanilla Bean Frap Ice Cream (oh yeah!)
*Fried Potatoes (like the kind you slice or chunk and then cook on the stove!)
*Salt (I know it is yucky!)

Also has anyone else started not liking something that they loved before they were pregnant? Ranch used to be my fav condiment in the whole world and now I can't even stand the smell of it! Do you think we will ever be normal again? LOL!

I finally!!! have real food cravings. It's so nice. I never actually feel hungry, I just want to eat constantly. (I call it grazing) Right now my huge thing is fruit and Mac and tomatoes. I can't get enough watermelon, pineapples and strawberries. So I've been eating those and smoothies almost all day long. In fact I think I might go make another one right now. They're really nice because it's so hot out too. :)

I know what you mean!!! I eat cereal a lot! I think the only reason that I eat dinner (like actual dinner food) is because my hubby is home around dinner time now (he is working night shift) and more often than not we eat breakfast for dinner (eggs, potatoes, bacon, etc) because he is just getting up and wants breakfast. I don't mind because I make fried potatoes and they are like my fav thing to eat right now... Also I have been making these awesome turkey/ham/cheese melts that are sooooo yummy!

I always want cereal for dinner, that or a peanut butter and jelly (yum!). I never want "real food" for dinner anymore, this just recently started about a month ago. I like ham more than ever before too. I'm craving a lot more sweets than before... nothing too strange but ya know... just a little different from my normal tastes for food. Also, salads just don't do it for me anymore... I used to love salads, but not right now, if I eat a salad it has to be small and with a meal whereas before I used to eat a salad as a meal all the time.
In the beginning of my pregnancy nothing sounded good... yuck!! Glad I'm through that awful phase!

I had KFC for dinner tonight. It was very good.

I haven't made my sour cream and cheddar enchiladas in over a year and I've been thinking about them for a few weeks. I finally made them last night. I have been eating a lot of mexican food this pregnancy.

I made chicken tacos tonight and chocolate covered strawberries! YUM! I also made steak a week or so ago with corn on the cob and mashed potatoes... I really want it again! I made eggs and fried potatoes last night and it was super yummy!

i want sweets and more sweets....i enjoy my ice cream, cakes, and brownies....ugh its sooo bad so tastes so good

i also like my fruits and veggies and cheese burgers...LOL

the one food i used to eat a lot of but havent had a taste for since i got pregnant is grilled chicken and pork....i just want the beef

i love tacos and mexican food....hmmm and pickles are sounding pretty good right about now

I hear something and I have to have it. It drives me nuts. I'm glad I don't have tv or I would always be eating fast food. I don't eat fast food usually because it's always made me feel sick and I just don't like the thought of how bad it is for you.

I have been craving Spaghetti O's which is weird because I haven't had them in years and now I eat a can a week at least.

I eat so much fruit I always have a ton of it in my house. I just ate a gallon ziploc bag of cherries. My roommate brought home 2 grocery sacks full I filled 5 gallon ziploc bags after washing them all. I go to the farmers market every friday and buy fruit and veggies. WIC has a program for the farmers market also which is nice.

No cravings for anything that I don't normally eat, however my craving for fruit has gone up a lot and I always have to have something delicious and fresh in the house. Also want shrimp alot, which is odd because although I did eat it before, I never craved it, but now I could just eat a ton.
During the start of my pregnancy I couldn't eat meat, and then just couldn't eat chicken, but luckily that's gone away now :)

I haven't started liking anything different but I've gone through phases of cravings this time.  For awhile it was toast with cream cheese, then waffle house hashbrowns with cheese.  

With my first pregnancy I had major aversions to meat.  I used to be a fairly big eat eater.  When I got pregnant with my oldest though I lost taste for almost all meat.  The only meat I did eat while pregnnat was pepperoni and bacon.  It took me over a year after having her before I developed a taste back for chicken.  Then about another year before I'd eat turkey again.  Even now, 14 years after I had her, I still don't eat most red meat.  I'll eat chicken, turkey and bacon.  Occasionaly beef jerky and that's about it.  I never got the taste back.  It's weird.  I can smell something like a hamburger or hotdog and think MMMM that smells so good, but I can't bring myself to put it in my mouth.  The one time I DID try a hot dog I threw it right back up.  It's pretty strange.

I'm not really craving or wanting anything that I never used to like before. But what I do want a lot isn't the food I used to eat often. In fact I can't eat my favorite foods. Haha. I used to love Chinese, steak and crispy chicken. (fried on the stove) and now they make me sick as a dog. I can't wait till I can eat them again. Now what I want all the time is macaroni and tomatoes, breadsticks (the kind from pillsberry that you twist) and corn and mashed potatoes. (I always want them though. Even before pregnancy) and fruit. Which is odd because while I've always liked it, I never went out just to get it. And now I keep going out to get watermelon, grapes, strawberries and pineapples. They're soo yummy and naturally sweet so it's great.
