Remember lots of sunscreen!! With all the pregnancy hormones your skin will burn a lot easier.
We have very hot summers July and August are in the 100's. I'm not looking forward to this summer but I plan on being out on the river boating and at the swimming pool. I will
stay inside in the AC as much as possible.
Thanks! I plan on wearing dresses all summer and hanging out at the beach, in a shady part i suppose, and I like the idea of ice between my boobs! Well, lets hope that this summer is fun and eventful in good ways!
All my pregnancies have been due in the middle to end of summer (july, august, september) and to be frank *I* haven't really found it to be any more difficult dealing with the heat than when I'm not pregnant. I just do my best to avoid the heat and when I am out in it, make sure I have plenty of water and don't wear anything to heavy.
Wear dresses or skirts, comfortable sandals (no or low heels), air conditioning is a must, keep your hair out of your face and off your neck, find some maternity/nursing tank tops, drink water (I wouldn't recommend gatorade unless you're actually dehydrated), don't overdo it, stay indoors from 10 am to 2 or 3 pm (hottest time of the day), take cool showers, put your feet up to prevent swelling. If desperate - put ice (or a cold, wet washcloth) in your bra right in between your breasts - works beautifully!
im due in sept and living in the south...my first full summer here...everybody warns me about being preg in summer too....here are my strategies to get through this
i eat a lot of freeze pops
stay hydrated ---- drinking a lot of water and gatorade
eat frequent small meals
hang at the pool or beach
stay inside in the central air if its too hot and nap :) ---- haha my favorite :)
eat ice cream!!!
those are the things that i have been doing and so far (haha its only may) its been going good...everybody has told me that i need to stay hydrated and that is where they struggled when they were preg in the summer
we'll get through this
