Ectopic

I amd 5 weeks and 1 day prg- we went for our first ultrasound yesterday.  The md did vaginal + stomach.  There was a small small sign of the gs forming (enough for him to label the image) but he also saw a 3cm possible cyst on my left ovary (he labeled that pic as well).  We are schd to go back next wed for another ultrasound- but he said there is a possibility it's ectopic.

I have none of those symptoms yet....thoughts?

Sorry for the delay. I was about 6 weeks according to the ultrasound.  However, I have wonderful news to report. My bloodlevels continued to multiply.  Additionally, my most recent ultrasound revealed the heartbeat.  The experience is amazing after so many years. There is hope after 42. Thanks so much Alli83 for your response and support.

How far along were you when he said there was no sign of a fetal pole? I am 5 weeks 5 days with twins and we didn't see a fetal pole...but my RE said thats normal. I also have a cyst on my Left ovary due to overstimulation and thats what caused my spotting. I think its too early to see a fetal pole at 5 weeks...its usually 6 weeks or so.

I had an ultrasound today which indicated no sign of a fetal pole.  Like yourself, my doctor wants me to return on monday to ascertain if there is some change. The ultrasound revealed some brownish discharge. I will know in a few days if everything is ok. Perhaps the fetus just needs a little more time to grow.  we will find out on monday. I pray that all will work out for you and your family.
