Lifting???

Hi everyone. I was wondering how you all are feeling about lifting items that are somewhat heavy. I have been super careful not to lift anything heavy and then today (for some unknown reason) I picked up the laundry basket and walked it to the other end of the house. It probably weighed between 10-15 pounds. Could that be bad for me or the baby? Please tell me I am being EXTRA PARANOID about this.

My son almost weighs 40 pounds and I was told that it is still ok to lift him as long as I don't have any cramps or anything. I haul this heavy little butt up and down 18 stair just to get up to my condo! I know he is way to heavy to carry anyways lol :)
