New Dr......

So I had my first appointment with my new Dr. today. I really like him and think that I'm going to stick with him. The nurse asked me why I hadn't been in sooner for blood work after seeing that I have had a previous miscarriage. I explained that the lady I talked to on the phone when I originally called told me that I couldn't be seen until I was 8-9wks no matter what. The nurse was so shocked and wanted to know who it was but I couldn't remember her name cuz it's been 7 wks ago. She said I should have been in right away. I told her I had been seeing my old Dr up to this point and so far everything is going good.

Then another nurse came in and went over all the do's and do not's of pregnancy. She gave me the book "The Joy Of Pregnancy".  I'm not drinking as much water as she would like me to. I guess I'm suppose to drink 2 quarts a day! opps.

The Dr seen me next and he said that with my history he wants to do WEEKLY ultrasounds. I was a little shocked by this since I've already had two ultrasounds and they were both perfect with a good heartbeat. So Thursday I am having another ultrasound. Which I'm not complaining I guess I'm lucky to actually get to see the change every week with my baby. I'm kinda excited. He is getting my blood work results from yesterday and depending on how my progesterone is he will let me know if he wants me to go on supplements or not. I was suprised by this also. I told him what the level was the last two blood works and he said it's ok but not what he would like to see and would have started me on supplements at that level. It was 19 first time and 18 second draw.  I'm almost 10wks and I thought that the placenta took over the production of progesterone at 12-13wks when fully formed. So I'm guessing I wouldn't be on supplements very long if he decides I need them.

Wow I can't believe he's talking about supplements with the levels you have.  Mine were 12.7 and my doc said they were good.  But with my last pregnancy they were 12 something as well and everythign went fine.  I am glad that this doc seems to be taking extra precautions.  I'm curious to see what all my doc is gonna do with me.  I am 32 and on my 8th pregnancy (2 m/c's, 1 fullterm stillborn and 4 living kids) . At my first appt he already asked me if we were ready to call it quits in the procreating dept. lol.  I have my first ultrasound on the 9th.  I can't wait.  I do wish I could get that many scans lol.  I'm hoping that since I've been preg so many times I will be able to get more this time around lol.   I guess we will see what the plan is at my next appt.

Congrats !!! I'm glad everything looks good and your doc is willing to do what he needs to in order to give you peace of mind.
