Hi Lucy! I am 14 weeks prego with my 3rd child and I have had huge ovarian cysts in all 3 ovaries! My 1st pregnancy went rather smooth, no pain even though my cysts were quite large. They drained my cysts during the c-section and I went for a follow up 6 weeks later and my ovaries were about 1/2 the size (I dont really remember how large they actually got) then I was scheduled for laproscopy surgery 6 weeks later.  The day before my surgery the DR called and informed me that I was preggo again (13 weeks after delivery).

I was in so much pain the whole pregnancy!! I lived in the bathtub for 7 months (my only relief) my cysts reached a whopping 22 cm on each ovary!  Once again they drained them during  a c-section and I was glad to have my body back to myself.

Now 2 years later I am back in the same boat!  At 7 weeks preggo my cysts measured in at 9 cm.  Now at 14 weeks they are 12 cm.  I have been in so much pain again I dont think I can go another 5 months like this!

I have recently decided to do some research on this because I'm thinking....there HAS to be something they CAN do besides..."keep an eye on them"  I have lost 6 pounds in 5 days because the pain is making me physically sick! But my ovaries have not twisted or ruptured....I think they have just really been through it with my ovaries!

I have just read that they CAN do a laproscopy surgey and this sounds like heaven to me!! Im thinking...WOW I can really enjoy the rest of this pregnancy!  So I am defintaley going to tell my DR that I would like to have the surgery! Especially since I have a 2 and 3 year old that I HAVE to take care of and I am useless when I am in pain! So good luck with your surgery and please keep us posted!

Lucy,
A friend of mine had a cyst that was growing at the same rate as her baby during the beginning of her pregnancy.  She was put on bedrest for a couple of months and everything was ok.  She actually went back to work for the last several months of her pregnancy.  She had a healthy baby boy!
Good luck!
