Tips for helping tossing and turning during sleep

Fynn is a very mobile baby when he is up..he is constantly scooting, dragging himself all the time, never still, and lately he is moving in his sleep, tossing and turning like every 15 sec or so. we have a king size bed and he could roll all the way from one end to the other and back and keep moving around all while asleep. It is affecting him and us because he gets himself in awkward positions at night and will keep waking up and we cant have him in bed with us because he keeps us awake by constantly bumping into us he has to sleep on our floor so there is enough room for him to toss and turn but one of us has to sleep on the floor with him to make sure he doesnt wake up and start getting into things....its been very frustrating..any thoughts on what i can do to help him have a more sound sleep?

I would put him in his crib. That is the safest place for him.

Kaelynn is a very active sleeper too. I swaddle her still otherwise she wouldn't stay asleep. Even with her being swaddled she rolls all over the place. If she's not swaddled then she crawls around then sits up and wont fall back asleep on her own. I had breathable bumper pads on her crib rails for when she was an infant for more air flow and now that she rolls I put the crib set bumpers on because they have more padding and she was rolling into the rails and bumping her head.

I never got any sleep with her in my bed because she is a mover.

You could try pushing your bed into the corner so that it's up against the wall so he can't fall out of the bed.

Babies are notoriously noisy and active sleepers.  I went though this issue a bit with Finn about a month ago.  He naps in his crib and went to sleep in his crib but he would wake up a few ours later and i would move him to my bed and he would instantly fall back asleep and I would leave him there (with a bedrail) until we went to bed.  This was when I got most of my work done.  Then he became much more active and started crawling around when I moved him to my bed - or when he would wake up - this really scared me because once he almost fell out (and that was the last time I put him in my bed alone).  Thank goodness this the same time that he started sleeping through the night in his crib - it really is a safer place for him.

Have you tired Fynn in a crib? When he wakes up, have you ever tired waiting a bit to see if he puts himself back to sleep when he wakes up?

I am not sure that you can make him a less active sleeper but you can problem solve a safer place him to sleep and work on helping him go back to sleep on his own.
