40+5 days - sweep anyone?

Today I have had a sweep done by my midwife and it was the most uncomfortable thing ever! I am really hoping it has worked towards getting labour started. I'm 1cm dialated and baby is 3/5 engaged.
Has the sweep worked for any of you who are lucky enough to be holding your babies now?

Bonnie231 - I will tell you my experience of it. The midwife literally put two fingers up my vagina, pushed REALLY hard and far to my cervix. It wasn't painful, it was more uncomfortable than anything. She reached for the baby's head and then used her fingertips to literally sweep away membrane off her head. It felt like a sort of 'swirling' sensation. Really weird. But again not painful. It lasted about 2/3 minutes, would have been shorter but I kept clenching!!! Then once she had finished I was good to go. Over in a flash. It's not pleasant, but at least it's not painful. I didn't bleed or anything. Now I'm just hoping it has worked and things start happening. Good luck if you have to have one too. X

It works for 1 out of 7, so fingers crossed. It can be just the trigger your body needed!
