On Friday at 38.1 weeks I had my first cervical check. Doc said I was 3 cm dilated and 80% effaced and she didn't think I would make it to my induction date on September 4. I thought she was crazy and would go anther week. That night my husband and I went shopping for some last minute furniture for the nursery. I woke the next morning with consistent contractions. I tried everything to get them to go away. By 10 I decided to go on and get checked. Turns out I was leaking amniotic fluid and in active labor.
From start to finish I was in labor for about 12 hours and pushed for almost two of those hours. No epidural.
All the pain was worth it when I felt my baby slide out and heard the doctor say "it's a girl!"
Emmanuelle Alexandra was born at 1524 on August 29, 2015. She weighed in at 6 lbs 6 ounces! She is beautiful and such an amazing baby.

Thanks! We are so happy she is here. We are not sure if she can hear or not because her little ears are not fully developed. Hope to get an mri in a few weeks to get answers
