When I got to the doctor yesterday, they said they do an early ultrasound whenever there's spotting, so I imagine they will if you're having pains. How bad are the pains? Mild cramps are normal cause the uterus is preparing for the baby. Good luck at the doctor! :-) They made me pee in the cup when I went in. I had to go when I got there and again when I had to give the urine sample, lol.

The first comment is a very good idea of what happens at your first appt. And the pee thing is true to... every appt you will pee in a cup so make sure not to potty before you go

I went yesterday. They did blood work and gave me a flu shot. It was a quick appointment but u got to ask any questions I wanted... Got some paperwork as well. I won't get to hear heartbeats or see anything though for 5 more weeks when my official first ob appointment is. That's just how my Dr operates!

I just went two days ago. They want a urine sample immediately to varify the pregnancy. I struggled to go, but learned that they will want that at every single apt. Then they check normal stuff, weight, blood pressure, the usual. They will ask you questions about your symptoms. Then the doctor does a pelvic exam exactly the same way he would do for an annual apt. Checking breast and a pap. He also gave me a bag full of pamphlets and information about the hospital and a gave us coupons ect. I did get a transvaginal u/s which was very exciting and not uncomfortable at all. I saw the heart beat and took a picture home. Then the worst for me was the blood work aa they drew about 4-6 tubes of blood (I wasn't looking) the u/s helped me forget about all the bad stuff though. Good luck and relax, I was a nervous wreck.
