How long to wait for first appointment

I found out I was pregnant almost a week ago. Called doctor and they made my appointment March 7th. Seems so long to wait. How long did you guys have to wait for first appointment? I should be 5 weeks now..

8 weeks is the earliest they will see you.

I went in at 5 weeks and saw our little sac. I feel like that's really early to go in but my mom works at the doctors so I may have just gotten seen because of that. But seeing every step of my baby boys growth was awesome. I do think most doctors wait until you're about 10-12 weeks. Good luck moms and congrats! Just take every second of your pregnancy in and enjoy it. It seems for me at least being a first time mom, that time is slowly going by which gives me time to enjoy every little kick and weird/uncomfortable symptom. I am beyond ready to hold my sweet boy.

I read to book an appt as soon as you know but most docs dont want to see you until 8 weeks. I went in at 5 weeks and my doc took a pee test and gave me paperwork to start a pregnancy file. Im taking that back next week and we will do my physical. After that he will have me go for blood tests closer to 8 weeks..

My first appointment is at 12 weeks.   Not much for them to do too much earlier anyway, and they are available for questions in the mean time.   I might have been able to get in 2 weeks earlier but my OB is quite popular and busy.
