Thanks - I liked the idea of a 3 or 4 letter middle name too. Hence the reason I'm not so sure of frances now. I do like the hyphenated idea but it will make for a very long full name lol

Penelope is on my short list of girl names :) absolutely adore it!
Perhaps you can hyphenate the middle name.
Eg: Penelope Ava-Frances or Penelope Isla-Frances
Or something to that effect. I wouldn't go any longer than 4 letter for the first part of a hyphenated name though as Penelope is a fairly long name :)

No its not - but neither of us warmed to francesca. Would prefer something shorter but cannot think of anything! Thanks for the suggestion tho its all very helpful. I didn't realise picking a name would be so difficult

Doesn't really flow well with the middle name Frances though? Its a family name I was hoping to use but can't come up with a modern/shortened version that suits Penelope
