need some opinions! labor??

Okay so I will be 37 weeks tomorrow & all day today I have been on n off the toilet (TMI) but I've had at least 5 or 6 bowel movements & its rare for me to even have 2 or 3 through a whole week! Now I'm laying down & I'm having period like cramps that actually hurt a good bit. Last week at my appt I was 1cm & 50% effaced. What do you all think? I just would hate to go in at 4 am for nothing. I have an appt later in the morning should I just try and wait til then?

Thank you everybody! Unfortunately it was a false alarm..I actually went to bed and woke up still having the cramps but they stopped before I made it to my appointment. Well, only 20 days left anyway so I guess I can be patient! Lol

I'll be 37 weeks on Friday. I've been on the toilet at least 10 times in the past 24 hours. Haven't eaten anything special to cause this. I am having a lot of abdominal tightening but no pain. My husband noticed yesterday morning that my bump is lower, so I think the baby dropped.  Could these all be early signs of labor?

That sounds exactly what's been happening to me these last 2 weeks!! LOTS of painful period like cramps! I went in 2x & they sent me home each time. They are picking up as contractions but mine weren't strong or regular enough to keep/admit me. I'd wait a little longer till the pain is really bad. My Dr Said you will know when it's time because of the pain & frequency it will happen. Good luck mamma!

Call your doctor or go in to the hospital im 28 weeks (my first) and at the hospital.... those cramps are labor pains! They are the same thing! If u have them about 5 minutes apart or 7 in an hour they will keep u!
