Absolute agony!!

So after spending the night awake every half hour with the worst toothache ever, I finally caved and called to find an emergency dentist that would be open in my area on New Years Day... Only to find the nearest one is miles away and only open until 11am, leaving me unable to see a dentist at all in the next 24hrs at least :(

Im 24+5, taken the maximum dose of painkillers recommended in pregnancy, tried everything that I can think of other than clove oil which I also can't get hold of in the next 24 hrs :(

Any advice on how to manage the pain until I can see a dentist would be hugely appreciated!!

I'm in England so I'm not sure if Orajel is stocked anywhere over here, will definitely go check though! If not think it will be a trip to the hospital...

Thanks everyone!

I had the same problem and put some whiskey on a cotton ball and put it directly on the tooth. I know alcohol is bad in pregnancy before anyone starts giving out..... but a drop on ur tooth will really numb the pain.
Good luck

I would try rinsing with warm salt water then placing orajel on the gum with a qtip then get a cold cold cloth on your jaw so it can take the swelling down this works good for my boyfriend and he has a cracked teeth

I agree with tasty. Try the cream orejel. my husband has a very bad tooth that needs surgery to remove and he uses the cream. He says it lasts longer and works better then the other. Also if it's so bad go to the er. They will give you antibiotics for it and a pain killer

Whenever I had uncomfortable tooth pain I would numb it with orajel and there's a liquid form and a cream form I think. I had the liquid. Not sure if it's unsafe during pregnancy but it did help. I'm sure any cvs would carry it

Try a heating pad on your cheek. I know when I was younger that really helped me with a toothache. Sorry to hear your in so much pain. Tooth pain is the worst :-(
