Scared about induction!

I'm scheduled for an induction this Thursday. Honestly, I'm terrified. I really wanted to wait for spontaneous labor, but I've been feeling like someone is stabbing me in my back and lower abdomen. Also, I haven't progressed much at all when it comes to dilation and softening. I just can't handle the pain anymore. However, I heard that induction hurts a lot because your body isn't ready. I'm really stressing out about this. Does anyone have any advice to make things go smoothly during induction?

Look up a due date calculator online. It should be able to help you get a better estimate of your conception date. [:

Thank you! May I ask what method of induction they used? They brought up Cytotec, but I was told that pill is dangerous.

I had to have an induction with my last one (#2) and found distractions are key! If you're allowed take a book, laptop to watch movies or a radio on softly to help relax so your induction isn't as uncomfortable. To be honest there is not much more pain involved than a normal spontaneous labour. I've had both, and think they average in pain equally, another thing is, you might like to try some gas, as this relaxes your muscles too, allowing for softening and dilation so much quicker! ;-)  hope all this helps
