Angry

So I'm at my fiancé's grandma's house bc we're doing a garage sale and everyone is smoking around me and it stinks, I don't like it and everyone knows I'm pregnant so wtf, it's rude. His grandma, her friend, and his uncle.  They smoke in the house, and then outside, I mention that I don't like it and I walk away and then his uncle follows me with his cigarette talking my ear off. Ugh I'm like super bitchy now Grrrr : / sorry just mad!

Maybe tell them it's making you feel sick, in addition to not being healthy for you and baby. If they still won't adjust for you, then maybe it is time for you to leave their house, for today. You're right it is rude especially after you asked them to not smoke around you.

That not even cool. I'd be angry too! My sister in law comes over on Sundays. She's a really heavy smoker (smokes inside at her place) and she reeks. We obviously don't smoke and hate the smell. Since we have cloth couches I put blankets on them to cover them and protect from her cigarette smell seeping into the fabric.  She got really offended and couldn't understand that we don't want everything to smell like butts.  Plus both our other kids are asthmatic so the smell triggers attacks.  Bring pregnant,  I can smell it even worse.  Ugh. I don't even care she was offended. People are just ignorant.

Instead of Complaining just leave and make your fiance stay.

The cigarette smoke really bothers me now bc it smells extra strong it used to not really bother me as much. I wish I could just leave we rode in one car together and are over an hour away from our house so I can't just leave him. He doesn't smoke either. I just don't like telling people what to do at their house so I just walk away. I've been reading too about it lately, says it can cause SIDS which is really scary and lots of other things obviously.

I hear not liking to tell people what to do in their house. It's tough. And complain away mama. It's good to have a chance to vent. Just try to stay outside as much as possible and don't be afraid to ask them not to smoke next to you. If they keep doing it tell your man you aren't feeling well and it's time to go!

Some people just don't care. Don't let it get to you. People notice I'm pregnant and they still light up right next to me. I get annoyed but I either just excuse myself or do my best to ignore it. Just as long you're not constantly in the company of smoke. 2nd hand smoke is bad for anyone, pregnant or not.

My husband smokes, and I find it offensive and nauseating as well. He doesn't smoke in the house,  but he does smoke in the car; we share a car. I find it frustrating because I feel like he thinks I'm just being a nag about it when I complain.
I don't think smokers realize how much the smell and second hand smoke lingers, and how sensitive nonsmokers (pregnant women in particular) are to the smell and effects of second hand smoke. Very frustrating!

Yes definitely agree! Smokers always think I'm nagging because they don't understand how bad it stinks to me I've been especially sensitive to it lately. His grandma's friend who was over (after I told them a couple times it stinks and makes me feel nauseous) was like I'm going to smoke over here so it doesn't bother you and I was like okay thank you! She goes and sits like 5 feet away and I was like really? Lol they just don't get it! Anyways, thank you ladies for letting me vent about it!
