Any Fl moms? or mommies to be?

I just have a couple of questions but i know theres only a few who live in Fl.

What are your concerns for raising your baby in FL (weather wise?)
or experiences if you already have children?

Would you move if you had the choice?
(Someone cooler to raise your baby)

I lived there my whole life, recently moved to NY. But my bf wants to go back.. i just feel like its so hard to raise a baby down there because of the heat. And i dont plan on raising them inside of a house, i want them to go outside and play like we used too!!!

I live in Saint Petersburg Fl and rising kids here is like anywhere else ... The weather sticks won't lie cause it don't get cold til January but other than that it's fine if you plan to take your kids to the beach just keep em close and there are barely any tornado sightings here mainly hurricanes and when that happens we know a head of time ...
I love Fla the school my son and step daughter goes to is nice up scale public school .. I live across the street from the water we can walk and go fishing or go too the park
it's not hard to raise a baby here cause of heat , just dress them accordingly to the weather ... my son is due in oct and I know it's gonna be warm so short sleeve onesies and shorts will be fine
I don't think I could raise my kids anywhere else we love the being so close too the beaches and all the fun parks *bush gardens , adventure island , disney world , legoland (which we are going too next weekend)*

Yeah i just worry about it being "too" hot. I have very sensetive skin, and i worry my daughter will as well. I get sunburns from driving in a car. However my family and friends are down there so its hard to really decide. Urggg decisions..... :/

I grew up in Maryland but currently live in Florida. I'm excited to have my first born being born in Florida. I understand it's hot but at least they can play outside all year long. You don't have to worry about driving in snow or the school bus driving in snow. Personally I would never move back up north.

I totally understand!!!!!! Although December, January and February are actually chilly in the day and especially at night in Florida. And December is a extremely windy month!!! It  always has a breeze though. But you definitely have a good reason, I can't debate with that :-)

Im not a heat person:/ i like upstate ny cause i dont like the city and its usually nice and cool! Florida doesnt have seasons.. it just has summer. I dont kniw i guess part of me doesnt wanna go also because my bf has friends there that are bad influences and i dont want him geyting in trouble while he needs to be a father... its a mix of not liking the state and not liking his friends.

It gets hot, true!! But I am use to it, can't say I love the humidity but I am a city girl who loves a country style life. Weird, I know!! I couldn't live in New York more then a week or so lol. I couldn't stay in California either!!! So I am happy here, between two different states that have a lot of similarity but at the same time, are quite different. Crazy me!! My kids play outside in the afternoon, not during the day..It's to humid! I run errands early to try and beat the heat!!! Why don't you like Florida?

Yeah i was raised in the orlando area and it gets hot/humid. The hurricanes dont bother me, that was the best weather i thought! And i live in upstate ny, i couldnt live in the city... upstate is more mountains and less buildings/skyscrapers..

I was raised there so obviously its possible to survive haha(: i just feel like im not gonna wanna go outside and im gonna be worried about being out too long:/

I am a bit afraid of the fact it's close to the ocean and hurricanes/tornados are common. I am paranoid about that behalf. And the mosquitoes are horrible!!! And a few other insects that are annoying! But they sale sprays of course!! :-)

I live in Atlanta Georgia but was born in Florida (actually raised between California, Florida, Georgia and Mexico) but I love Florida!! We go around the Jacksonville area every free weekend or holiday we can!! Florida does get hot but the great thing about Florida is that there is always a breeze even areas not so close to the ocean. I love the smell, trees, plants etc. It's an awesome place to live!!! The only reason we haven't moved to stay in Florida is that we own a construction company here in Georgia. My husband constantly works and we are not willing to risk losing our crew. So we just go back and forth often. I like Georgia because we get hot summer's and cold winter's (often snow). It's a perfect mixture for someone like me, who loves both!!! New York is okay, they have some great stores to buy clothing (cheap) but it's not my style. I prefer the Georgia/Florida weather!!!!!
