just because its hard to quit doesn't mean you get to undermind your baby and not even try, its not about just you anymore, and just because other babies have come out fine dosent mean nothing will ever happen to anyones baby, why risk it, cig smoke is proven harmful for development for decades now, why isn't that enough to atl east try keep trying, have you spoke to your doctor about quitting options, i would start there, sorry if it sounds mean really not my intention
It's not so much the lungs of baby it affects it's the cord oxygen in theory they say every time you smoke a cigarette it's the equivalent of squeezing the cord a little. This is why babies born to women who smoke are usually smaller in size x
I know a lot of people who smoked their entire pregnancy and had no problems with their babies...I pray for great health with ur Little One!!!!
My girlfriend smoked through both her pregnancies her babies were full term but tiny. Both kids now have development issues & drs have said it's because she smoked during pregnancy. It's just not worth the risk. Try everything you can for the sake of you little one.
Think about the fact that it is not about you, but the little one... what if he/she e does not want to smoke and you basicaly force him to do that!? That is how I quit when I found out I am pregnant. Not because of myself, but to give an option to my baby.
I wouldn't go quite so far as to say it's the same as strangling her baby. More like the cord that gives the baby everything she needs. And I would also recommend talking with your doctor to find an alternative to smoking like gum or something.
Unfortunately smoking does cause quite significant problems for your unborn baby. Every time you smoke you are reducing oxygen flow to the baby, basically suffocating it a little. This does damage it's ability to develop. It doesn't mean your baby will die. But you are more likely to have a small underdeveloped baby and one which has developmental problems into their future.
The long term affects can be very significant.
Please please try harder. I know it's hard. But every time you have a cigarette think about you basically strangling your child. That's what you are doing.
I smoked my whole pregnancy with my daughter and she was 100% healthy when she was born and she still is. I'm currently 28 weeks with my second baby I didn't find out until 3 weeks ago and I'm still smoking and he has healthy lungs
I'm trying to stop smoking it's hard
I've still been smoking this far also. I'm really trying to cut back. Between being irritated all the time and stress I didn't want to stress out the baby even more. Maybe not a good excuse but it's the way I've felt. I hope all goes well for you. Please update once you have the baby. It may reassure those of us who haven't been able to quit either. Best of luck and have a great holiday season.
I. I do know cigarettes are proven to harm an unborn fetuses long development. And its not healthy for pregnancy. But I can't be one to judge I know it is hard to quit a habit.
Couldn't stop smoking what? Cigaretts?
