Give birth earlier, on or after your due date? 30 weeks today, baby shower at 35 almost 36 weeks, trying to judge if I should be packing early or if it's more normal for the first babe to come later. . Friend had first baby at 35 weeks

I heard it depends on the length of your cycle. Woman with a shorter period cycle have babies that come earlier.

A pregnancy lasts anywhere from 37-42 weeks. The only reason it says ftm go over 40 weeks with babies is because most the time the mother doesn't know when her last menstrual period was. With my first I knew exactly when I conceived and I gave birth at 38+6 and with my second I didn't know when my last menstrual cycle was because I wasn't keeping track considering I was only 3 months postpartum and I had my baby at 41+1. I am currently pregnant with my third and I know exactly when I conceived. Hope this helps.

I heard it's more likely to give birth early if more than just one woman in the family is known to go into labor early. Had a gal in my childbirth class that had the women all go in early each generation

I went 2 weeks over with my 1st, i had to get induced and was only in labor for 1 hour, a few pushes and she was welcomed into the world :)

I keep reading confusing things about how it's likely for ftm's to be overdue and then other sites saying more likely to come early. Does anyone know if it's more likely for you to go early if your mom had babies early? Both my sister and I came early.
