At what week did your work carry out risk assessments?

What week did your work carry out risk assessments?I work in a nursing home and I'm 25 weeks and as of yet in have  not seen a risk assessment so I'm still moving and handling. Pushing hoists and stand aids around. I have over the last few weeks started expierencing pains and aches in my groin. Standing on one leg to get trousers on etc and even walking :( thank you

I'm due to see my midwife this week so I'll have a chat to her and see what she suggests. Thank you :) I was told when I told them I was pregnant at 10 weeks that they was going to do one.. but it was never mentioned since and I've not seen one. But I received a letter from the head office with my maternity forms with a letter attatched stating that my risk assessments would of been done at this stage and so on.. x

I do similar job but in people's own homes. I told my employer early on (before 12wks) as being lone worker I didn't have support if needed it. They carried one out. As pregnancy progressed and having problems my midwife suggested  (20wks) I needed it changed to suit as they were putting me and baby at risk. I am 33 wks and still have not had done, she has had me signed off. The risk assessment is there to protect you and baby so from experience I'd recommend you demand one as you are doing manual handling tasks that you shouldn't be doing. And speak to your midwife for advice too

We never did them in the homes I worked. I don't think it's required. But if you're feeling uncomfortable talk with your DON and your doc.

I'm not sure risk assessment is a requirement in most jobs.  When I worked through my 1st pregnancy it was my job to let them know if I didn't feel I should be performing certain tasks.  My employer was very understanding but I've had friends that had to aquire a note from their Dr for light or restricted duty.  Check with your human resource person they should be able to answer any questions.
