BIRTH PLAN?

I'm 32 weeks, and I keep seeing things everywhere, even from the app, saying it's a good time to make my birth plan, but I don't know the first thing about all that. I'm a ftm, and with all the pregnancies I've been around, never once have I seen someone have a birth plan already set. They just went in and did it. So, I'm guessing it's not necessary, but I like planning and lists, and am generally organized, so it sounds like something I'd like to do, but where do I even start?

I googled "birth plan" and got some good examples.  Even found a few PDFs.. might help you decide if you want one.. just remember that you have to be flexible with your birth plan..

You can ask your doctor for a birth plan form if they have one or you can Google it and download your own outline for a birth plan. I just wrote down on mine that I wanted to breast feed immediately and that I wasn't her to stay in the room with me and not the nursery and who I wanted in the room while I give birth

I'm on my second child. These kids will be 12 yrs apart. With my first i went natural no meds no nothing.  I'm planning on doing the same.  I want no visitors and i want my baby with me the whole time. I'm going to breastfeed and i don't want them taking my baby to the nursery.  That's my plan. So that should give you an example to get you started on yours.

Birth plans are good guidelines for your midwife/doctor to ensure they know what you want because during labour with everything going on and pain you won't want to think about any of that.  I didn't do one first time but have been asked to do one this time.

I've read that it's best not to have a birth plan. That way you don't get freaked when things don't go according to plan. The doctors and nurses appreciate when you don't have one.
However if that's your thing, look on Pinterest, they always have good ideas.
Good luck

The only thing I have written down that I feel is necessary is a list of people I want to come visit while I'm in the hospital.  I too am a ftm and am 33 weeks
