Baby shower???

I'm having my second child and I have always heard you don't have a second baby shower its tacky. Well my first is 9months old and I'm 21 weeks pregnant with my little girl (first is a boy). I was wondering is it tacky to have a second shower or not? I'm not working at the moment and very strapped for cash. Babies are expensive and I don't know what to do... I gave myself a baby shower for my little boy, although my support system is strong not many ppl help me I paid for everything and was very upset. I was an hour late for the shower and had to cook 90% of my food. I do not want to experience a second shower like that so any advice anyone...

I don't believe in baby showers.  Wasting money to feed and entertain other people when the money would of been suffice to buy what the baby needed to begin with, but end up disappointed... Get an online registry and keep it pushing.

I am having my 3rd. It doesn't have to be expensive. Half the stuff is not needed. Borrow from friends. It's a second child so you probably have a lot of the basics already. Never had a baby shower myself not into all that kind of thing. Don't like the idea of my friends and family being out money. But that's only my personal thoughts and every body is different. My friend is lending me her pram. I already have a cot and steriliser. Bought baby grows in penny's. Picked up a packet of nappies , wipes every week while doing my shopping. Toy master is good for baby stuff, I collected a few bits and pieces there and paid a bit of each week. My parents and I laws have asked if I need anything I just told them if they want to give a few bob into toy master that's up to them.

Buy what you can buy for your child. No one is entitled to do anything for other people esp someone having a child.

Do an online shower. Amazon or something. And that way people can buy or not.
