the big deal about boys!!!

This is not a question but more of an rant.  So this is my 4th baby I have been blessed with 3 amazing daughters, that I can't believe are mine at times lol. But ever since I got pregnant with my third one everyone I know would only say it better be a boy. And I ended up having a girl and all I hard was "oh waw another girl". It would hurt me when people would say that with so much disappointment in their voice, my husband always said he didn't really care as long as they were healthy.

So this time when I told people we were expecting again all I got was " we will pray hard is a boy, could u imagine how ur husband would handle another girl ". As if it was my fault we had three girl as if it was a bad thing. When we found out we were having a boy I didn't want to tell anyone one I felt as though it shouldn't matter and it was non of their business.

But people would keep asking and when I would say I didn't know, they would say ya I do it must be another girl. So to shut them up I told them. And now that I am 5weeks a way until he is here, all I hear is 'you finally completed the family" as if my family wasn't complete already? I am happy to have my boy and all I want is for him to be born healthy. I just don't understand this big deal about boys and I always wondered if I had 3boy already would people still be saying my family wasn't complete without a girl?

Am sorry this is soo long am just soo mad at my family and friends, to the point I don't want them to visit after he is born.

Hey I am exactly in the same situation as you...we have three gorgeous girls and are expecting our first son in 5 weeks also. We were excited when we got our third girl cause she was healthy and that was all that mattered and we were supposed to be finished with having babies but the good man upstairs had other plans and gave us a son after being told by medical staff over the last 19 years we couldn't have boys due to a genetic problem. So each pregnancy we would hear the same **** too..oh still trying for your son and blah blah blah, but since we were going by docs word we thought we would only ever have girls anyway and we were both fine with that. Our girls love love love their daddy and theres nothing more beautiful than watching their relationship blossom. I'm actually a singer and loved the fact our girls can sing too and each addition to our little choir just added another dimension to the beauty they ooze inside and out. Be proud of what you have as not everyone can be as blessed as we all are with even having these precious creatures...girl or boy they are all gifts and should be loved no matter. Tell all these people to take a leap cause at the end of the day it's your family and you obviously love what you have. We are stoked to be having a son but would have felt the same if it was another girl anyway.

I have an almost 2 yr old son and am expecting another boy in August. I have made the decision  (for various reasons that I won't get into) to tie my tubes after delivery. And you wouldn't believe the comments I get from people who think they know better. 'Don't you want to try for a girl' 'You'll regret it when you want a girl' 'But wouldn't it be nice to try one more time for a girl?' And so on and so forth. While it's not completely similar to your situation, it's along the same lines, so I can understand where you are coming from. I just tell people where to shove it I'm not entirely nice about it any more because I'm so tired of hearing about it.

You are so right.. I only have one girl and I am expecting a boy but before I was pregnant my sister would always tesse my husband telling him we were only going to have girls she even bet with him. It was so annoying then she would say that she wanted boys and that she wanted to give my parents the first grandson. At times she would pissed me off because she would say this everytime we would bring yo the subject. Well she is pregnant a few months behind me and of course once I announced I was having a boy she changed her mind and said she wanted a girl because they are cutter and blame bla bla... like I care I have a girl too.. but anyways I understand the whole people getting in it.. yes I am super happy I will have on of each but to me the most important thing was their health sex didn't  really matter I feel like I am blessed enough to be able to have another baby who cares if its a boy or a girl.

I have a 14 year old son and I'm expecting a girl now, but I think what people are thinking buy aren't saying is there is a different kind of love between a mother and her son. My great-grandmother predicted a boy & I knew deep down inside I was having a boy. She would say, boys take care of their mom's. Boys will do whatever it takes to protect his mom.
They also keep the family name going. They also look to share common  interest with dad, like a mini side kick.   So I think this is just a few things that people are trying to say,  but just haven't come out and said.
I'm looking fwd to having a girl & seeing how different they will be.

I have one boy who is 12 and everyone kept saying they hope I'm having a girl this time... Honestly I just want a healthy baby, that's all that matters. Ppl just assume that ppl want or should have at least one of each sex I think. I'm having a girl and ppl keep asking if we r done now. I say we r done when we want to b done. Its really annoying. im sorry ppl r making u feel that way. Some ppl just need to keep their stupid comments to themselves!

Omg I totally understand how u feel I'M pregnant with baby #5 I have 4 girls already so after the first all we would hear is "are u gonna try for that boy" so each time we got another beautiful girl people would tease my hubby and say things like " it takes a man to make a man" this drove me bonkers we love each and every one of our daughters and we was happy with whatever GOD blessed us with. People are just so ignorant..... so I found out that this baby is our boy and Yes we are excited and ready to meet him but we also would've felt the same if it was a girl. Now my family is acting like this is their baby and they can't wait to take over. My Co worker asked me if we was done now that we "finally" got a boy I thought that was insulting and I responded I'M done when GOD says so.

I completely understand how you feel. I think it has to do more with keeping the name going. My son (first and only so far) is the 8th grandchild for my in laws but the first boy that will carry the name on. Everyone acts like he walks on water. I know he is my child but I feel bad for the others because my child is treated different from the rest. Bless u out for having girls, I don't think I would know s what to do with a girl. If your family and friends act that way, don't let them see your son. It's your kid and who says others HAVE to see him. Hope things get better! God bless!! :)
