I have 4 girls and dad wants to name our first boy his name. I don't want too. I told him I would add his name as a middle name but it wouldn't be a first. And he says no and won't even consider talkin baby names. I need ideas!!!! Middle name *possibility* Jacob.

I get where you are coming from. My husband and I didn't want our son to be named his exact name. Let your kid be his own person. Not pressured to live up to his dad, grandpa and great grandpa's namesake. We used my husband's middle name as our sons middle name. It is still meaning full, just not so much pressure. Plus I am not a fan of Jr, or calling your kid by their initials.

I agree I think Jacob is a great name so why not keep the name going? I'm pregnant with my first and if it's a boy my honey wants to name it after him he's the second so our baby will be the third. If it's a girl we decided I could name Her either way I don't see anything wrong with having a name carry on.

We are giving our son My husband's first name as his middle name. Jamie Ross. I agree when they have the same name it can cause confusion in the future. My grown brother is Daniel William .... Jr and he got a letter from the IRS demanding hundreds of thousands of dollars it was meant for our father Daniel William .....Sr. (our dad went nuts a few years ago and left the country without paying his taxes that year).

Andrew Jacob
Beau Jacob
Chase Jacob
Emmitt Jacob
Gabriel Jacob
Harrison Jacob
Kolby Jacob
Levon Jacob
Oliver Jacob
Rory Jacob
Wesley Jacob
Xavier Jacob
Zachary Jacob

Our son will be named after his daddy. His name will be Christopher Nicholas Jr. But we will probably call him CJ (Christopher jr.) which fits perfectly because he is already just like his daddy...

My fiance and i are also having our first child and he's beyond excited, which also makes me excited. We aren't sure about the sex yet (18+3w ) but i got to chose the girl name if its a girl and i gladly agreed to him naming our child after himself if its a boy. His name is Charles Christopher the 3rd and i just find it to be a great idea. You did agree to ise his name somehow instead of completely disregarding it which should be good enough. But i also don't see a problem with the name Jacob. Its a very nice biblical name.

Our first has my husband and father in law middle name and our second son will have his great grandfathers name as a middle name.I love when I can use a family name in my kids names. My daughter has her cousin middle name as her middle name

My husband and I are having our first and we don't know the sex yet (I'm at week 10), but if it's a boy we are naming him Jeffrey Scott Gabel III. My husband is the second and his dad the first, so I think it will be pretty cool having a family name live on.

I hugely disagree... Usually companies are smart enough to notice different middle initials. There are lots of people in the world with the same name Google your name. You won't be the only one.

I honestly don't like when ppl name kids after themselves. It's so confusing to ppl. But to each their own! Our first son has my husband's middle name but he would never name a child after him anyway. It honestly messes with Dr's offices, insurance, credit cards, bills and all kinds of things when young and when they grow up. I have dealt with insurance with ppl having the same name and it's truly a pain for both parties parents and the company's.

Its really none of my business but why are you so opposed to naming your son after his father?

We named our second son after my Husband we were very young with our first and fell in love with the name Noah so that's what we stuck with but when we planned our second and found out he was a boy we named him a version of his name since he wasn't the first born. My husband's name is Kristopher we named our second son Kristian.

I'm not going with it. The best I'll do is use Jacob as a middle name but now unless I can find the perfect name for it. I don't like it for a first name and I know too many. I don't like overly popular names.

My hubby never suggested his name for our first boy or even second yet with this baby,we don't know the sex its going to be a surprise, he suggested it and I was like if we were going to do that it should have been our first so he is nit wanting it anymore.

As in Jacob is your hubby/partner's name? If he's that adamant can you just go with it? Jake or Jakey are cute nicknames... I know a little 1 yr old Jake and he's the cutest! My dad named by brother after himself, they were both Joseph but we called my brother Joey. I always thought it was pretty cool as you don't hear of the same name much anymore even though it used to be the done thing...
