Breast Pump

I heard your insurance pays for your breast pump...do we have to have our ob/gyn write a prescription for one or can we just call our insurance company and order it that way?

Call your insurance company first and ask. Your insurance ci.pany may even have a maternity program that you can keep in contact with throughout and which will provide other free things like books. They will direct you to the vendors available for your breast pump and let you know if you need a prescription or not. My insurance had 4 vendors. Check them all out because each one offered different pumps. I ended up getting the medela 2 breast 2 speed electric pump, but it one of the vendors had that one. It came in about 3 days! But some insurance makes you wait until a certain point in or after pregnancy before shipping.
