COFFEE, good or bad??

Because I'm running about 16 hours of the day with working and driving to school at night an hour and a half away, i began drinking coffee again. Not my 32 ounce like usual, maybe a cup or two.  My co worker mentioned she did as well as smoke and her teens are beautiful and smart. last one graduate in June.

Who else had coffee during pregnancy?

My husband told me to stop but i told him to ride with me to school and keep me up. He did, him and my daughter found something to do for 4 hours (5:30pm-10pm). So i calmed down a little.

Thanks so much for all the input. When i stopped coffee, i over drank soda. So i went back to a cup of coffee, two max a day. Small cups and i drink half of it. I drink water mostly. At night i drink a small juice box to keep me from eating all night. 11 weeks to go.  Since I'm breast feeding, 5 months without coffee. :( but our son comes first.

Caffine also lowens your iron intake so in all leave you with less energy. Apples are a great natual sauce of energy and last longer than coffe

The advice is to limit to 200mg a day.  I'm a tea drinker but couldnt stomach it until I was 17wks, my pregnancies hate tea lol. I'm now 22wks and I have one cup of tea most mornings, I drink no other caffeine...more of a juice person than soda. I fancy the odd coffee every now and then and I do indulge. I think you're fine with the odd cup, but you can buy decaf coffee or even half-caff which I drank in my last pregnancy. Just be aware of other things you consume that have caffeine in too :)

Coffee...gooooooooood......to much baddd.....so really common sense if you give a tadpole 5 cups of coffee what do you think will happen? Prob be a messed up frog... so I say take a cup make it two...takes a while to get use to but add more cream. If you drink it black brew a regular brew a decaf mix it. Gives you more but you are getting less caffeine.

My doctor actually recommended caffeine for severe headaches. I'm 20 weeks and get frequent headaches. Obviously she didn't recommend drinking caffeined sodas and coffee all day...but if your drinking enough wster as weel, some caeffine can be good for yoi. including Tylenol with caffine.

It's advised that you limit caffeine intake to 200mg a day. There's a risk of miscarriage with too much caffeine. Remember that some soft drinks have caffeine too. For your co worker to say that, I think she needs mental help recommending smoking and lots of caffeine to a pregnant woman!!! I love my tea and coffee but I'll cope for another few months if it means ensuring the health of my baby.

Everything I've read says a cup or two is fine but to also pay attention to other caffeinated beverages u might drink throughout the day like sodas
