Unfortunately nothing does quite substitute for the real thing, especially if you're accustomed to drinking it heavily. Believe it or not though, if you do stay away from it and maybe try to get even an extra half hour's worth of sleep at night it does make a world of difference. I was used to drinking at least four or more cups a day so when I had to cut back it was one of the hardest adjustments that I had to make. I was tired all of the time and had no energy until the caffeine left my system and my body got used to not having it. I know it's hard, but it's definitely possible. And definitely worth it when it comes to the health of your LO :)
Tryed everything and I'm always sick I am depressed about it i from my morning sickness don't know what to do any more :(
My midwife told me that one cup was okay, but that I then had to drink at least two 8 oz cups of water or fruit juice to counter it. She said that caffeine can restrict the blood flow in the umbilical cord to the baby, and that's why they prefer you to not drink it. I'm not a big water drinker, so it was very hard for me to give up my coffee, haha. I just use MiO's or water flavorings to help force it down, and then drink fruit juices. (:
I drink a small cup of watered down coffee every morning because Im a creature of habit, and it um...keeps things moving, shall we say.
Ok thank you (: i dont drink soda i don't really like it. I only like and drink sprite and rootbeer without caffeine. I usually always only drink water and milk
My ob told me 2 cups a day, or 2 12oz sodas, were fine. But no more than that :)
Oh ok. Thank you for the advice, like i said that cup of coffee is the only one i will drink in my whole pregnancy because its better to be safe then sorry. Im not a coffee fan anyways i was just craving it this morning but that was my first very small cup of coffee, more like a small cup of creamer with a little bit of coffee and it will be my last cup of coffee for the rest of my pregnancy. Thank you (:
It is always best to check with your Dr. Usually one to two cups is fine. But everyone is different. If your a high risk for preeclampsia probably none at all.
Thank you, that helped me out alot. I dont drink coffee at all now. Before i was pregnant i only drank like a cup of coffee like every four months or so because im not a big fan of caffeine/coffee anyways. I was just craving it today so i figured i would ask. I drink it with alot of creamer and barely any coffee because i cant stand the taste of strong coffee anyways. So thank you for that i appreciate it i know not to drink alot of caffeine that will be the only cup of coffee i have during my pregnancy thats for sure.
It is okay to have one cup of coffee a day. They tell you that because it can effect the baby at any more than that. I know when they found out my daughter had a heart arrhythmia that is literally the first thing they asked me was if i drank too much caffeine.
