Caffeine :(

Im on my 3rd pregnancy in the 3rd trimester. I was drinking quiet a bit of tea this morning (2-3 glasses) when I felt so much discomfort in my pelvis and I was starting to worry because she would kick like she was trying to knock out my plug and make a break lol. Anyway I sat down and drank a glass of water and it eased up.
Ive never been much of a coffee drinker and with my last 2 kids tea was a big part of my fluid intake and had no health issues. Now I drink 1 cup of coffee 2-3 times a week because Im still working and some days I just feel so drained. Doing research now I'm seeing caffine in particular can have a high risk of birth defects. Anyone have any issues caffine related during their pregnancy that cause development issues?

My doctor allows 2 caffeinated beverages a day.  I gave it up before I got pregnant but my sister never did and had her 2 with a smile on her face.  Since you aren't feeling good though maybe looking for alternatives is good.  I don't think what you had should hurt you or baby.  I drank orange juice.  The sugar gave me a bit of a kick.  Not like caffeine but I felt peppy after a glass of OJ.  good luck

Thanks guys and Bella I believe I am. I eat a lot healthier when Im pregnant and take my vitamins regularly. Im a dog groomer, with 2 kids already, and a husband who is a firefighter/army reserves do even though I sleep Im sure my brain never completely shuts down. I do drink tea but my tastebuds are very finicky about the type. This pregnancy has been unlike any of my others so everything has me paranoid.

Hi are you getting enough Iron, D-vitamin and zink? Because that would be a lot better, than coffee for both you and the baby. Ofcause the pregnancy in it self is exhausting for your body. Also you could look into herbal tea, I found a great tea which is actually made for pregnant women and it helps a lot. Just google pregnancy herbal tea.! Hope it can help

I try to limit it, but I did have about one cup of tea or soda most days with my pregnancies and have 2 healthy and smart children.
