First of all, 36 is too early for baby. Medically speaking, 37 weeks and above are considered "full term", but in reality, due dates are only educated estimates and could be off by as much as 2 weeks. If your due date is off, you could be trying to get your baby to come at 34 weeks, at which point baby's lungs are not yet fully matured, and baby may not be able to breathe on its own. Also, 40 weeks is just an "average" of when most babies are ready. Some are ready sooner and are perfectly well, others need more time. Both my babies were late (42 weeks and 40+4), and both came on their own and perfectly healthy. Both were under 7 lbs (6 lbs 1.4 oz and 6 lbs 12 oz respectively). Had either of them been born "on time" or a little early, I would have been preemies.

I know it gets very uncomfortable at the end of the pregnancy, and I know that you are very excited to hold and love on your little one. But please remember that natural labor starts when baby's lungs mature and send a signal to your body that kick starts labor. Although you are ready, your baby is not. Please be patient and do what's best for your little one, let baby come when s/he is good and ready.

On a side note, castor oil may work to induce labor in some women (generally, just like other natural induction methods, and even often medical induction) will only work when your body and baby are both ready. The chance of it being effective now is very low, but it comes with serious potential side effects, like severe cramping and diarhhea, which irritates uterus and may cause baby to go in distress, cause baby to poop in the amniotic fluid and inhale it (lung damage!), and even cause you to have to have an emergency c-section. Please don't risk it, mama. It's not worth it. You only have a few more weeks to go. Hang in there, it will be over soon, a your baby's health is worth the wait <3

You're not full term yet...so that's not a good idea.

In the uk they don't do anything until 12 days after your due date which su.cks as I was so done with pregnancy last month but here I am now 40+ weeks. Also 38 weeks is now classed as full term. With my first I was induced at 38 weeks as they thought he would need surgery but luckily he didn't x

Personally from other people and what I've read it's not such a good idea it can make you have sickness and diarrhoea and possibly baby. I've just started taking evening primrose oil I'm 40+2 and I've been taking it for two days but you can start taking it from 36 weeks as it doesn't force labour it helps your thin out and prepare for labour.
