We moved away (2500 miles) from my family when I was 20 weeks. We are now surrounded by my husband's very supportive family but it's very hard being so far from my family. I'm in my 30's and this is the first time in my life I've lived more than a 25 minute drive from my parents. My parents planned to come down for babies delivery but it's looking like they baby will get here before them. Unfortunately it's part of life, it's rare that everyone's families stay close. People move for many reasons and adjusting to not being as close as you would like is hard. We thank modern technology that it's easier to stay in touch. Skype and social media are a big help. Visit when you can, 8 hours isn't to bad as far as road trips go.
I live over 2000 miles away from my family, and am about to move further away. It stinks not being able to see them or share this with them. Go ahead and visit them for a while to figure things out. Maybe you'll realize that it'll be nice to be so far away from them ;).
Hello. I live a situation which is similar to yours with the difference I am more than 24 hours of plane far away from home. I love with my fiance in California and my famjly is in Italy. I understand perfectly how you feel and I decided I will give birth in my country where he will be able to come so that I can have my family with me and then come back to the us. Consider all the possibilities!
Youre real early in your pregnancy, take some time to visit your family, and maybe that time away will help you figure things out..
