Does Your Water Break Before Or After?

Is it possible to have contractions before your water breaks???

I went into labor before my water broke with all of my children.

Call your doctor when your contractions are about 5 min apart.

id call labour and delivery as mentioned above and they can let you know when you should come in. if this is your first labour can take a long time. some women are in the early stages for up 12 hrs.

If your having contractions you should give your hospital/labour ward a call. They will most probably tell you to time them and to ring back of they get really close or if the pain gets worse. Usually where I live we call the labour ward and they will advise if we go in or not.

yes it is. very few women actually break their watee naturally. i dont know the exact percentage but most women need their waters broken at some point during the labour by the dr or midwife. its normally done to help speed up labour if a woman isnt progressing fast in the hopes that it will help you reach those last few cm. of dilation.
