I had my daughter at 24 weeks 1 pound and 8 ounces..i hated to leave my sweet pea there but I had to..i went to work and school everyday including going to the hospital to see her..she stayed in the hospital for 3 months because it took forever for her to gain weight.. I'm pretty sure you will be able to bring your little one home soon and your daughter will be the best big sister helper ever. . Stay positive he will be home soon

I had my daughter at 32 weeks. She was 3lbs 13oz. I had eclampsia so I was induced with her. It was hard leaving her at the hospital and I went twice a day to visit and feed her. I was worried that she wouldn't know me and I felt guilty that I had to give birth to her so early...nice she came home we binded..she's 11 years old now and she's having a sleep over at her cousin's house so I can't sleep lol...she stayed in nicu for 7 weeks. She was required to:reach 5 pounds, breath room air, eat from breast or bottle with no issues, and maintain her own body temperature. Her biggest issue was eating, she kept having bradycardia while eating and it took weeks for staff to realize that she needed thickened liquids. I also had to pull her bottle every 4 su cks to make her breath because her su co, breath, swallow was not coordinated.
