FTM , should I or no ? "curtains in nursery"

Hello ladies, I'm 36w and in finishing up my son's nursery. There's no theme just things me and husband liked together. It's very cute and definitely a original.

My question is we have these shades in his room but it don't let a lot of light out ,should I put curtains to keep the light out ? I was planning on making his curtains or buying them. At night he'll sleep his pack n play with us in our room and during the day he'll either be his swing or room in his crib.

Should I but a plain curtains or something fun like the solar system. Lmk xoxoxo ♡

I made awesome curtains from a diy I found on pinterest. I bought painting drop cloths and then punched grommets through them to go on a rod.
The pin suggested all kinds of cool stencils to use for designs but mine are just plain.
I painted the rods bright teal.

My daughter hides behind the curtains in our other rooms. Sometimes i feel its a hazard. I chose to hang a valence on a curtain rod. Just for decoration.
