6wk no fetal heartbeat

I went yesterday for my first apt. I am a ftm, they said they measured the baby at around 6 weeks, but could not hear a heartbeat. The doctor wants me to come back in a week for follow up ultrasound, has this happened to anyone else and what was the outcome if so. I have been worried since yesterday.

I had my first ultrasound at 5weeks they couldn't find anything I went back in at 7 weeks 3 days and they got the heartbeat on the ultrasound. They didn't get a good heartbeat using a Doppler untill my 20 week appointment but it was always on the ultrasound

Using a dopler?  At six weeks, you can not hear a heartbeat with a dopler and your doctor should not have tried. I'd be seriously questioning your doctor. That's completely irresponsible for him to cause you that worry. You can not typically hear the heartbeat through dopler until 8-10 weeks. Most responsible providers won't even try until 12 weeks.

You can also try a vaginal ultrasound they are more accurate. I hope all is well.

The heart beat started already sometimes it's really faint so when u go back u should be able to hear it. Don't stress it usually happens... I'm 6 weeks also

The baby is very little still!! Usually between 8 & 10 weeks is when they first hear a heartbeat!! I wouldn't worry! It's still very early to hear anything!
