First post-birth meal?

I know various hospitals have nice post birth meals for mothers. I have seen pictures of mothers and father enjoying steak dinners  and drinking Coke. Now that I will have my first I wondered what my first real meal will be. I have decided that it will be an Italian hoagie with extra vinegar and a bag of Herr's chips. I have been going through cold cut withdrawal since week 3.

So what will you eat?

I've craved myself some Mc flurry for the longest time. Maybe a steak or some bbq chicken or something to go with it... yum!

The hospitals in Kentucky offer steak dinners to new parents. Myself, I'm gonna eat as much seafood as I can! Lol I haven't heard of the ice cream being a no-no, or pizza? My doctor hasn't said anything, but I know here they close machines down to be closed every night at McDonald's, Wendy's, etc. I've only craved milkshake so I've only had one frosty since being pregnant. I'm also gonna drink the world's biggest cup of coffee my body will allow. I've cut back from nearly two pots daily to a small cup 75% creamer. I miss my caffeine! Lol

The hospital I'm giving birth in allows you to bring in takeaway foods so I'll have my boyfriend bring in a pizza to share with me as that's been my big no no and I'd love to enjoy it again!!

When someone close to you has a still birth at 35 weeks due to listeria and you yourself lose a baby there's nothing that will make you take even a small risk

oh I've had a few throughout my pregnancy lol

It's because its soft serve ice cream and the machines don't get cleaned hot so the risk of listeria is very high as you need temos of 70degrees to kill it.

American hospitals must have different menus lol! Over here (Australia) most of the time you're not in long enough when having a baby to order (they take orders every couple days) so you're given the "spare" type meals. And it's all heart foundation tick approved stuff so generally meat and veg with the occasional jelly and icecream.

Last time I was in the hospital when I had my son, I really liked their hamburgers. As weird as it sounds, I am looking forward to ordering them again haha.
