First trimester exhaustion

I'm almost six weeks, but I'm completely exhausted like I'm in my third trimester. This is my second pregnancy. Any tips on how to feel more awake? I drink lots of water and do some moderate exercise, but I'm always exhausted and I have my own toddler to look after and another that I watch a few days a week.

Nap. Sounds selfish and lazy but nap. I was the same at the start of this pregnancy. I could barely walk down the stairs i felt so weak and tired. I would have to make time in my day to just nap. I have 2 girla already and would have them sit in my room and read stories to "help mama sleep". Usually we all fell asleep.

I was super fatigued in my first trimesters in my pregnancies.  Like I was sedated walking around like a zombie. It's normal but annoying!  Who has time for that?  LOL  I agree, try to build in some naps.  I would take a 20 minute cat nap which worked well for a little refresh.  If I could, I'd go longer.  And I would give myself permission to let other things slide such as house cleaning.  Sleep felt more important than a perfect house at that time!

Here's an article from MedHelp's articles on it: http://www.medhelp.org/pregnancy-health/articles/Fatigue-During-Pregnancy-Your-Symptoms-Manual/1986

I see an acupuncturist who helps enormously in this department. Like a Christmas miracle. There are many acupuncturists who specialise in fertility and pregnancy support so they understand you particular needs and can help with other preg symptoms. Also 2nd the advice on fiber supplements such as benefibre or metamucil, but you'll need to take these 3 times a day if the situation is bad.
