After having the baby

Can I drive myself home after I get out of the hospital? That's really my only choice at the moment.

Was wondering the same as I live 6 minutes away. I prefer to be alone...including delivery.

They advise against driving because your body is still trying to get your uterus down to size and you can still have contractions. So if u end up having one while you're driving it can cause an accident. It's best to find someone to drive you.

I couldn't drive for like a week or so. Hell I couldn't even close my legs before I left the hospital let alone drive myself. Guess it depends on your recovery

I had a natural birth. And I was driving the next day. It depends on you. Just play it by ear if you dont feel comfortable driving dont do it

Ummm no. Even after having a natural birth it can take a couple weeks until you can drive because you need to be able to make fast movements in an emergency.

Most Doctors will advise against it. There are local can companies who will drove you home for free or even the hospital shuttle will. Always good to call and find out.
