Free Breast Pump with BCBS?

I was just wondering if anyone knew how to go about getting your free breast pump with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama? I called my insurance but was told to go online and so far I haven't been able to really find exactly what I need.

Try Medela.com I have highmark blue shield and I went through that site. Didn't need anything from my ob just some information about the office and insurance info. Was 100% covered and received pump the next day.

I have bcbs indiana.  I called them a few weeks ago and they confirmed that the breast pump was covered as preventative (ie FREE). They gave me several choices on how to get mine.  (I have to wait until 30 days prior to my due date). I can go to edgepark.com and put in my insurance plan and choose one of the like 3 brands. Or i could go to an in network medical supply store to get one. I checked out the website and I am going to use that option.  Seems easier

I have got to get on that! I keep forgetting to call them. My WIC office told me that if a pump isn't covered by my insurance they will provide me with one.

I have bcbs in ma. I called and spoke with a representative and asked them what was covered with my plan. I happen to have coverage to get my pump for free. Bcbs sent me a list of medical supply pharmacies in my area and I got a prescription from my dr. I called the pharmacy and they told me that at 3wks I can come in with the prescription and walk out with the pump

Having BCBS of *whatever state* doesn't mean anything. They have multiple plans with different coverages. Sounds like whoever was helping you didn't know how to help you. First, ask if you have DME benefits for a breast pump. If you do, ask your OB to write a prescription/doctor's note for it. IF authorization is required for the equipment, your OB's office should also be the one working on that.
