It is generally poor edict to host your own give me presents party. That being said, I would not want to be that pregnant for the shower. Normally a good 4-6 weeks before the estimated due date gives you time to get any missing 'necessary ' items.

It's up to you. My church did one for me in October which was super early but they wanted me to have things I needed and know what else for my family shower. My sister is doing my family/friends shower and it's on Dec 12th and my due date is christmas. She lives 6 hours away and she could only do it that day with work. She told me I had to make it until then lol.

I would pick a sooner date, maybe the first week of January because you don't want to be uncomfortable at your shower. I had my shower at 33 weeks, 6 days because I wanted to get things I did not get at the shower before our prince was born. I just had my shower two weeks ago and basically have everything my prince will need. Good luck!
