How to get rid of ingrown hairs?

I suffer very bad from razor bumps and ingrowns hairs. Because of this I have not shaved for almost 6 months now but I still get ingrown hairs down there and they are so irritating and they hurt. Any advice on how to get rid of them or make them less irritated so that I'm not itchy or they dont hurt as much? Could they be infected? Should I tell my doctor about them? Sorry about all the questions lol I'm just so frustrated with this problem

Ive had really bad ingrown hairs but what gets rid of them easily for me is natural aloe vera, not the gel the real thing, the plant has tons of healing properties and it's amazing! Just take one of the arms of the plant and skin it open, rub all that mucous on top on the ingrown hairs, it's kinda disgusting but it will help a lot. Store it in the fridge for 10 min so it can get cold and it's soothing on the he skin
