Heart Beat (Gender Test)

So a friend of mine told me the old wives tales about how if in your first trimester your babies heart beat is above 140 than its a girl, and if it's under 130 it's a boy because girls mature faster than boys and I was wondering how many of you have tried this. I'm 7 weeks today and have my first appointment in five days, my OB  said I will be able to hear the heartbeat and maybe see it. I'm really tempted to try it just for fun but I also want to know how accurate it has been for all of you.

The wives tale is anything under 140 is a boy and above is a girl. And there is absolutely no truth to it, it is based off a study done IN labor, and a small study at that. The study found that IN ACTIVE LABOR boys heart rates were usually under 140 where the girls were above. My son's HB was always above 170, and my little girls has been 155.

My boys has been above 140 the entire time. You can't tell gender from heartbeat or skull theory or craving sweets it's a girl and crave salty or spicy it's a boy it's all crap that's made up. The best thing you can do is not worry about it put it in the back of your mind this way time will pass a lot quicker

My girls heart rate can be anything between 140-160, don't think you can actually tell gender by heart rate

I was told above 150 is a girl and in the 130's is a boy, when I first heard the heartbeat it was 145 and it always stayed below the 150's and when I went for my ultrasound they told me it was a boy so it was right this time

It's all a myth. Can't tell gender based on heart rate.

Since the beginning of my pregnancy my little girls heart rate was between 143-150 . I was told I'm having a girl after my appointment for her anatomy . We'll see when she arrives, but I feel like it does depend on how active your baby is because it varies .  I've seen some boys high and low as well as girls ....

I'm having a boy and his heart rate is always in the 130s. I also just knew that it was gonna be a girl and it wasn't. It was a boy. I don't think anything really works until you actually have a doctor tell you what it is

Just looked at my first ultrasound and realized the heart rate was more like 170. Boys do run higher I've been told and it has been true for me and a few of my friends.

My oldest daughter was 140, my second daughter was 153, my first son was 158,second son was 153 and I'm 12 weeks now with 163 heart rate. I think it depends on how active the baby is at the time. I also believe in mothers intuition. You'll know what you're having

I've been told anything 160 and up is a girl and under that is a boy. my first was a girl her heart rate ran 180 most of the time. this time the baby is supposed to be a girl but heart rate hasn't been higher than 150 so we'll see and I'll let you know. 10 weeks left.
